Google G Suite setup

Control access to Bugsnag using G Suite SAML.

To configure Bugsnag with Google G Suite SAML:

  1. In Bugsnag settings select Organization -> Single sign-on (Admin access is required):

    • Copy the SAML endpoint URL to your clipboard. Configure SSO
  2. In Google G Suite Admin, select Apps then SAML Apps and click on the + to Enable SSO for a SAML application.

  4. Under Option 2 download your IDP metadata. You need to host this XML file publically so Bugsnag can access it. The file must be served directly, not via a redirect and needs to be permanently available (it is requested each time a user logs in). Download GSuite metadata

  5. Select Next. For the Application Name enter Bugsnag. Select Next.

  6. In Service Provider Details:

    • ACS URL - Paste the URL copied from Bugsnag.
    • Entity ID - Enter
    • Select Next. GSuite provider details
  7. In Attribute Mapping:

    • Add a mapping for User.FirstName and User.LastName as shown in the screenshot.
    • Select Finish. GSuite attribute mapping
  8. Enable the app for your users as required.

  9. In Bugsnag:

    • Paste the URL of your publically hosted metadata file in the Login URL from your SSO provider field.
    • Select Auto-provision users on first login if you would like accounts to be automatically created for new users. Users will be granted access to all current projects but will not be given admin access. Users will only be added up to your plan’s collaborator limit.
    • Select Enable SSO.
  10. You can now log in to Bugsnag from your G Suite apps.
