An event is an error reported by your application: either an unhandled exception (often called a crash) that has been detected by BugSnag, or any handled exceptions that you choose to report.
Minidump events (native crashes reported by Electron apps, or apps integrating Breakpad or Crashpad) each count as 5 events for billing purposes. This is due to the additional costs associated with receiving and processing minidump events.
BugSnag plans come with a daily quota on the number of events we will process and save. We provide two options for handling daily event quota overages.
BugSnag Administrators can configure their plan’s event overage strategy from their plans and billing settings page.
If you are on a plan with rate limiting enabled, we’ll begin rate-limiting error events when you exceed your daily event quota. As quota is constantly being accrued, you will always have some coverage spread throughout the day. We’ll always notify you via email each day our rate limiting system kicks in.
See managing event usage to learn how to control which events BugSnag processes and counts against your daily quota.
In BugSnag Performance, we control the sample rate so that the client SDKs integrated into your applications send us the number of spans you have purchased. You will not be charged more if we end up receiving more spans than you have purchased. For more information see our Sampling documentation.
